#BENEFITS TO BURNING CANDLES

 There are endless reasons we choose to light candles including such reasons as to bring the light or energy of spirit to your surroundings, add romance, for prayer, aesthetics, scents, protection, rituals, magic, divination and many others. What ever the reason, candles are a beautiful addition any where.

The point of this information is to give you some deeper meaning to the symbolism behind the colors, scents, size and other spiritual purposes behind using candles.


Colors are a great attribute when burning candles. For instance burning a.......

**Green candle can call abundance, and prosperity,
**Black can be burned for protection spells and rituals,
**Red is common for love and romance, 

**White commonly represents spirit or the divine,
**Purple is associated with enhancing psychic abilities and the higher chakras,
**Orange stimulating your creative projects,
**Yellow and Pink are very calming and peaceful
and the list goes on.


Scents are a great addition to candles. Aromatherapy is a growing field as more and more are realizing the benefits of using scents as a natural way treating many symptoms. Some common scents and their benefit are as follows;


**Lavender is superb for calming,
**Rosemary and Juniper Berry are stimulating,
**Lemon is invigorating,
**Sage or Peppermint is clearing,
**combination scents can be used as well.

The rule of thumb is if the scent improves the way you are feeling, more than likely it is a good scent for you.


Candles are made from a variety of waxes.

**The more natural and cleaner burning waxes include bees wax, and soy.
**Although not as clean paraffin wax is common due to it's inexpensive price.
**Candles can even be made from liquid oils such as olive oil and others.

Candles are used everywhere, birthdays, funerals, restaurants, spas, home and endless other places. There is always more to learn to utilize their benefits to the max. You can even make them yourself with little effort. Google or search You tube for great information that will open new doors to using candles.

#Making a spiritual altar

Making an altar is a lot simpler than many realize and using it, is just as easy. An altar is created as a sacred or meaningful spot that has a collection of meaningful items you have collected along your journey or items that have special meaning to you.

You may use you altar for many reason. Some use it to pray or offer thanks to their God or their Angels or Guides. Some use it to practice rituals or spell casting. Some go to it when they are grieving or having a hard time dealing with something. Some just simply light a candle or some incense or burn cleansing herbs. An altar is a nice safe place where you can be you and practice your faith, what ever it may be.

When you set up an altar, your intention is to create a space where you can show your reverence for the universe !!

 What you choose to use as your altar as well as it's location is also what ever feels right to you. Some use a small table, or a fancy plate or glass dish, the top of a bookshelf or wall shelf, some use their dresser or small area on the counter. It really doesn't matter what you use, as long as you are comfortable in that space or area. The room also matters very little, kitchen, bedroom, family room, closet, dining room, even bathroom is perfectly fine so long as you are able to relax and be comfortable enough to do what you want to do.

The items you choose to place on your altar have only to have special meaning to you. Others may have some of the same objects as you but most likely there are very few alters that look the same. Angels, candles, incense, lucky objects, special rocks or gemstones, oils, glass figurines, animal symbols are a few common items that can be found on ones altar.

Some other items that may be found are bells, essential oils, oil burners, protection symbols, prayers, affirmations, crystals, cauldrons, herbs, salts, feathers, keys, rings or jewelry, shells, coins as well as many, many other items. The item will have relevance to your journey, it will have deeper meaning to you and no items are off limits, so long as the item bring reverence or love to you when seeing it.

An altar need not, to be complicated. It only needs your faith and what ever else is just more intention put into your project. You altar can be big or small, fancy or simple. Most start small and grow as the years go by. Hopefully this clears up any complicating thoughts in regards to creating "the right" altar. *Herbs, what they can do for you !!

Herbs are our longest form of medicine being practiced we have. They work, and that's why no one in power or authority will tell you about them or even allow you to call them medicine. For if we knew the true power of herbs pharmaceutical corporations would be out of business. There are hundreds of herbs that have thousands of purposes and so many of their qualities are going to waste. Herbs are easily obtainable and simple to grow yourself. There are many dried herbs available and none are overly expensive if you have to buy them.

Herbs can and are used for many things.

-One of the simplest and common uses for herbs are in herbal teas. Herbal teas can be purchased in a variety of stores and can stimulate, relax and even cure endless specific ailments.

-Herbal baths are extremely effective for drawing out aches, pains, colds and flu. They can be relaxing or invigorating, depending on the herbs selected.

-Selected herbs are used to smudge or cleanse the energy in an area or your surrounding space. Its similar to incense sticks expert your intention is to call upon spirit to come and clear space of negative energy.

-Herbs placed in a carrier oil such as grape seed or almond, even olive oil infuses draws out the herbs healing qualities. Leaving the herbs to sit in the oil, shaking every day for up to 6 weeks, although 2 weeks is sufficient. These herbal oils can than be used for massage, and will help different ailments, depending on the problem and herb chosen. These oils are also edible and can be used for cooking.

-Tinctures are medicinal liquids made from soaking herbs in alcohol or sometimes vinegar for 4-8 weeks. The herbs strained and the types of liquid left over can be used for fever, aches, pains, depression, stomach upset and many other symptoms.

-Herbs are also used in candle making, creams, lotions, magic, meditation, prayer, crafting, aromatherapy and many other uses.

Begin your research on the Internet or find book about the medicinal uses of herbs. There is great benefits to using herbs and growing and using them can be very therapeutic to the body, mind and soul.

#Do you understand what a witch is ?

The true definition of a witch is simply a wise-woman. A wise woman is someone who has a deeper understanding of life and how it works. They also utilize the powers of the universe, understanding the misuse of these powers will create negative karma unto themselves. Witches know that the universe is a creation of love, that love is the everything and that so many souls are desperately trying to reconnect with.

Being a witch is not all about spells and magic potions, although the use of these are utilized as it is the given right to all souls who temporarily live here on Mother Earth. Mother Earth provides us with magic everyday and witches honor this in every moment. The herbs she grows in perfection are there to use to heal ourselves and strengthen our thought forms into creation. The air we breath has the power to carry our most prominent thoughts to spirit for them to manifest and a wise woman would use this to help her manifest.

A witch or wise-woman knows how to bring all that Mother Earth has to offer together and manifest what it is they are creating, whether health, love, happiness, abundance or a stronger connection to spirit. Their understanding of how these things work teaches them about true respect for other humans. This allows them to use their God given right to create magic without hurting or causing pain to any other soul, as this would not be the true essence of what magic is.

To use magic is to respect all spirit, all souls and all rights given to humans and life forms. When one uses magic through a combination of herbs or oils and word affirmations, it is no different than sipping on a peppermint and ginger tea and thinking to yourself how you want to restore health. Using the herbs provided by Mother Earth in combination with positive thoughts and feelings, while watching for the signs to take action when the opportunity presents, is an example of what magic is.

Almost all witches are loving healers with a powerful connection to spirit and would never do harm. There is a general rule or agreement that you are to cause harm to no one. This implies any use of magic is done out of love therefore any magic practiced is for the betterment of someone or something. Anyone can practice magic, actually many do without even realizing they are using the very techniques witches use.

If you feel any negativity towards magic, do your own homework and you might find yourself seeing magic in a different light than before. You might even find yourself being called to practice it as many souls have been a witch in a past life and forgotten their connection to it until that is, they re-spark what has always been there, through reading and research.
